Boni Community is among the most marginalized community in Lamu County, their residence is prone to al-Shabaab attacks and the mode of transportation used to reach them is very risky (both by road and sea). In ensuring such communities welfare and their culture is well preserved, Lamu Women Alliance through SIEMENPUU Foundation are developing a Community Bio Cultural Protocol Tool known as BCP in order to preserve culture, norms and community land rights of these vulnerable communities {Sanye, Boni (reffered to as Aweer) and Bajun}

Through arts and theatre performance, Lamu Women Alliance partnered with Lamu Arts and Theatre (LATA) in creating awareness through a skit showcasing the effects, impacts and importance of working together in ensuring that all forms of action are taken in the fight against climate change. The skit brought out the importance of the power of voices in the women for climate justice project funded by Akina Mama wa Afrika (AMwA) under the auspices of Voices for Climate Action (VCA)
