LAWA through Search for common ground funded by the European Union successfully held a football tournament in Lamu east sub-county bringing together men, women, youths, PWDs and stakeholders wih the hope of creating promoting peace and awareness of violence in the community and finding mitigation measures. The tournament addressed the different causes of post election violence and how it causes trauma to he victims. The tournament also touched on the importance of not allowing things like tribalism, interfaith and corruption to destroy the unity that Lamu county has had. The unity and togetherness of the community and how the local people would like different stakeholders to intervene in the fight against violence before, during and after election. The uchaguzi bila balaa project turned out to be a success as now more stakeholders are engaging the community in peacefull talks and tournaments.
